RAMS® Privacy Policy

Introduction

The Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS®), facilitates exchange of professional and technical information within its community of interest through its Annual Symposium and various other communications media. RAMS® is a collaboration of nine technical professional societies (co-sponsors), and technical exhibitors that participate on a yearly basis. A RAMS® organization is established annually to manage day to day operations. To facilitate information exchange, the RAMS® organization and each of the collaborating entities maintain and share data bases of contact information. RAMS® does not otherwise share contact information.

RAMS® is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of its registrants, visitors to its web sites and members of its co-sponsors. This privacy policy describes what information RAMS® will collect from registrants to the symposium from visitors to its web sites and members of RAMS® co-sponsors and how we will use that information once it’s collected. This policy does not apply to the practices of any third party, affiliate, or business partner that RAMS® does not own or control.

What organizations and web sites does this policy apply to?

This privacy policy applies to the RAMS® organization and its web site, www.rams.org. It does not apply to web sites of any RAMS® affiliate, subcontractor, co-sponsor society or exhibitor. It does not apply other organizations or to web sites operated by individuals, organizations or groups who associate themselves in any way with RAMS®. It does not apply to any other web sites, including those that have hypertext links to the RAMS® Web site.

RAMS® uses secure third party web sites to collect personal information needed for symposium registration, for management of symposium operations, and for sales. We try to limit information required to that absolutely necessary to operate efficiently. In addition we may get personal information from the co-sponsoring societies and the exhibitors. Information received from these sources is governed by the privacy policies of the providing organization. The RAMS® organization will use this information to provide you with information about current and future Symposia.

Co-sponsor societies and exhibitors may use personal information in accordance with their individual policies.

Co-sponsors are the professional societies that Sponsor RAMS® and Exhibitors are those companies or organizations which participate in the Exhibits Program at the Symposium.

Submission of your personal information to RAMS®, either as an individual or through a co-sponsor or exhibitor is regarded as consent to receive at least an initial contact from RAMS®, a co-sponsor society, or exhibitor or as otherwise required for operation of RAMS®. RAMS® will delete your contact information from any RAMS® held list, in accordance with information that will be provided in RAMS® e-mail messages. Each year, RAMS® will use current member mailing lists provided by co-sponsor societies. Your contact information may therefore be on one or more of those new lists unless you have opted out in accordance with the individual co-sponsor society policy.

Control of your personal information

As noted previously, RAMS® will share your personal information with its co-sponsors and exhibitors but you will be given the opportunity to control its use by “opting out” of future correspondence from the RAMS® organization or from the sponsoring societies or exhibitors. To opt out of contact by co-sponsor societies or exhibitors you will need to contact the individual organizations.
